This module, one in a series of competency-based administrator instructional packages, focuses on a specific competency that vocational education administrators need to be successful in the area of professional and staff development. The purpose of the module is to help administrators to analyze their professional needs and to devise and implement a professional development plan. An introduction provides terminal and enabling objectives, a list of resources needed, and a glossary of selected terms. The main portion of the module includes four sequential learning experiences. Overviews, which precede each learning experience, contain the objective for each experience and a brief description of what the learning experience involves. Each learning experience consists of a number of activities that may include information sheets, case studies, samples, checklists, and self-checks. Optional activities are provided.
