A 2-day symposium of historians and archivists prepared a series of 11 specific recommendations for the development of a comprehensive national inventory of historical materials in American education. A pilot project, recommended as the initial step, will focus on three aspects of education: community, formal, and higher education, possibly limited to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
