Putting Adult Educational Theory into Practice: Developing a Comparative Religion Course for Adult Learners.
Hengesbach, Theodore W.
Information and course materials for a comparative religion course offered to registered nurses as part of an off-campus bachelor's degree completion program are presented. Some presumptions about the students that affected design of the course are considered. The course provided students the opportunity to study the broad field of comparative religion and a special interest area. Ten worksheets were developed to correspond to a 10-part filmstrip series. The text for the course, the corresponding written assignments, the design of special interest area study, and course evaluation are discussed. Appended materials include: a course syllabus, study questions for the text, worksheets, and guidelines for developing learning contracts. (SW)
