The Teamwork Approach: Training for Teachers & Volunteers Working Together. In-Service Training Models. Partners for the 80's.
Milligan, Dorothy, Ed.; Reid, C. J., Ed.
Eight inservice training models are included for teachers, school staff members, and school volunteers. The models are designed to accomplish objectives such as (1) familiarizing the faculty with the value of participating in a school volunteer program; (2) familiarizing faculty with the objectives, structure, and policies of the school volunteer program; (3) creating teacher/volunteer teams and establishing open communication between teachers and volunteers; and (4) developing guidelines which will foster open communication between teachers and volunteers. A typical format for a model includes the following sections: time needed, participants, objective materials, special notes, and a content outline that gives the time, activity, and description of the method. Appended material includes a workshop for teachers and senior citizens, a Volunteers in Education Training for Teachers workshop, and model handouts. (LRA)
