This volume reports on six research projects undertaken by the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) to improve the education and social integration of disadvantaged youth in Israel. Described and discussed are the following: (1) the Home Instruction Program for Pre-School Youngsters (HIPPY); (2) an experiment in elementary school integration in Nachlaot; (3) case studies of several experimental summer camps; (4) the role of vocational education in manpower preparation and social integration; and (5) a comparative case study of ethnic integration in Israel and France. Each project is described in terms of its objectives, methodologies, and effectiveness.
