U.S. History: A Media Bibliography. Bibliographic Series No. 21.
Marsh, Sheila Johnson, Comp.
This annotated bibliography presents a selection of over 60 nonprint media materials relating to U.S. history of the 17th through 20th centuries in the collection of the California State University Library in Sacramento. Materials include filmstrips, audiotapes, slides, and videotapes published between 1956 and 1977. They are divided into three sections: U.S. History, 17th and 18th centuries; 19th century; and 20th century. Topics include American craftsmen, the Revolutionary War, blacks, women, great speeches, songs, pioneers and pioneer life, Abraham Lincoln, immigration, John F. Kennedy, World War II, and Vietnam. Materials of broad interest in the area of U.S. history have not been included: e.g., materials related to political parties, constitutional law, or economic factors. Each annotated entry is listed alphabetically by title, with bibliographic information, type of material, running time when readily available, and color or black and white. The preface states that the annotations are "either from guides to the programs or from advertising brochures and do not represent an evaluation of the item by the bibliographer." (CK)
