The administration of the Post Vietnam Era Veterans' Educational Assistance Program by the Veterans' Administration is described, and the operation of the program within the Department of Defense and its components is covered. Appended materials include proposed rules for a new participatory program for educational assistance for persons who first entered active duty in the Armed Forces after December 31, 1976; instructions for processing claims under the program; and changes in the refund and payment procedures. The Department of Defense section of the report describes program recruitment, inservice programs, enrollment procedures, Department of Defense contributions to the fund, and program participation statistics.
