Preparing a School for Evaluation. Educational Services Bulletin 54.
Armstrong, Robert L.
Beginning with preevaluation and ending with postevaluation procedures, this publication addresses the entire process of evaluation of a secondary school by an accrediting association such as the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. It attempts to provide insights into conducting preliminary steps, doing a self-evaluation, preparing for a visiting accrediting team, and implementing and responding to the team report. The logistical considerations covered include choice of steering committee, choice of evaluation format, allocation of faculty time, cost estimation of the evaluation process, and needs of the visiting team. A short selected bibliography is included. (Author/JM)
