This series of lessons and class activities is designed for presentation in a sequence of nine class days. The collection is intended to provide the student in advanced science classes with awareness of the possibilities and limitations of solar energy as a potential solution to the energy crisis. Included are discussion of the following: (1) Solar energy variables (weather, geography, and day/night problems); (2) Characteristics of solar heating and cooling; (3) Construction of a solar collection; (4) Electrical production by solar cell; and (5) Characteristics of solar electrical production.
