This resource guide lists activities and materials that can be used by teachers to provide students with information about the historical background and cultural heritage of Afro-Americans. Specific teaching strategies, learning activities, and informational readings are provided for the following topics: (1) prominent black Americans; (2) African heritage; (3) slavery; (4) equality and civil rights; (5) black achievement; and (6) current black culture.
