The report reviews current status of coal mining technology training in postsecondary educational institutions throughout the United States. Each identified institution offering coal mining training was sent a survey designed to obtain information on the size and scope of its program. The survey data are presented. Sections of the report also present curricula information from institutions offering coal mining training, a statement of the task force's philosophy in undertaking the survey, a statement of objectives, and an appendix containing an exerpt dealing with the development of coal mining curricula.
