Perceptions of Developmental Skills (PODS): A Multi-Source Rating Profile of Functional Capabilities for the Preschool Child. Research Edition. A Descriptive Manual.
Bagnato, Stephen J., Jr.; And Others
The Perceptions of Developmental Skills (PODS) Profile is a rating scale designed to keep standardize and profile subjective perceptions of adults who have frequent contact with handicapped preschool children. It is intended to complement, rather than to replace, standardized developmental assessment procedures, by integrating a diagnostic sequence of screening, identification, assessment, and individual programing. PODS is used to rate functional skills in four developmental areas: (1) communication; (2) social-emotional adjustment; (3) physical development; and (4) cognitive development. Included in this document are a PODS profile sheet and PODS rating scales for each subdomain of the four major developmental skills. Scores are derived for communication, own-care, physio-motor, and problem solving skills, as well as a developmental summary. Criteria for assigning ratings from 0 to 7 are provided. (MH)
