Described in this report is a study which was undertaken in Wisconsin to evaluate the effectiveness of the Parent-Child Nutrition Education Project. A review of literature dealing with parent-centered approaches in education is provided. The study's focus, its methodology, its training of parents and data collected from pre and post tests of the children and parents who participated in the project are described and discussed. Findings indicate that the effect of training with a parent-child interaction component was positive. Recommendations for the development of nutrition education programs with a parent-child interaction component are outlined. (EB)
