Emphasizing that media skills are an integral part of the school curriculum, this product provides a guideline for the planning and implementation of media skills in the middle school. A number of activities are outlined for reinforcing the following objectives: media center orientation (coordinatd by media specialists to be carried on throughout the year), understanding the organization of the media center, selection of resources, utilization of resources, production of media materials (pictures, graphs, tape recordings, photographs, films, etc.), and evaluation. The activities are designed for use in small groups and may be done in the classroom as well as in the media center. Definitions of terms and an instructor's checklist for grades six, seven, and eight are also provided. (DS)
