Guidance Resources for Counselors and Administrators in International Schools.
Donahue, Thomas J.
Designed as a guide for administrators who must perform or organize guidance tasks in an overseas school without a counselor, this book is also useful for the professional counselor who seeks to function in an expanded role in an overseas setting. Its purpose is to provide sources of information and ideas for solving guidance-related problems in overseas schools, and to help provide answers to the unique questions asked of counselors abroad. Much of the resource information contained in this guide refers to Europe. This is because many U.S. students choose to study in Europe, and many American schools are located there. Other information, concerning entrance requirements to foreign universities, school directions, health and legal matters and professional sources of support for teachers, counselors and students, is also provided. A lengthy appendix includes several articles on studying abroad, sample school profiles, and further recommended readings. (Author/PK)
