In its first year of funding, Project MEDIA (Meaningful Educational Directions Through Innovative Approaches) offered school districts in Illinois information concerning the latest emerging developments in the field of education, specialized assistance in developing and implementing new approaches and techniques, and a centralized resource for information and guidance regarding innovative activities and operations of the State-Wide Facilitator Project, a component of the National Diffusion Network, covers the historical perspective, the diffusion process, information dissemination, adoptions--process and product, administration--budgets and records, organizational development and processes, and project evaluation. A summary of the evaluation and a list of local education agencies together with exemplary projects they have adopted are included. (RAO)
