Concerning the Management of a Touring Theatre.
The first of four related manuals describing the goals and methods of an established developmental theatre project at the University of Colorado, this manual presents a hierarchical framework and practical guidelines for training the management personnel of a touring theatre group. Stressing the value of cooperation among the participants, the manual outlines the responsibilities of organizational personnel, details the significance of a designated space for a management office, and describes roles and possible tasks for the director, secretary-bookkeeper, booker, advertiser, and advance person. Samples of a contact information sheet, a typical booking conversation, a production announcement, and an elementary workshop outline are included. (MAI)
