The booklet lists administrative and legislative recommendations from the White House Conference on Handicapped Individuals. Suggestions are made for such priority action items as consumer involvement in planning and decision making, establishment of a federal programs coordinating center, and enactment of a comprehensive national health insurance program. Also addressed are the following topics: future plans of the Rehabilitation Services Administration; White House initiatives; state activities in such areas as legislation, architectural barriers, and public attitudes; plans for a White House Conference on library and information services; support for the transbus, an accessible bus; and teletype systems installed in the Office for Civil Rights of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
