Be a Smart Consumer.
DiPaola, Elizabeth Ann
This book was prepared especially for the students of the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf as a one-year course in consumer education. The purpose of the book is to provide students with necessary information and skills to make wise decisions as consumers in the areas of realizing consumer values and goals; evaluating advertising; managing money to purchase food, clothing, shelter, and transportation; using labels; understanding taxes and laws; and using banks and credit. Each unit contains objectives, vocabulary words used in that section, and reading matter with illustrations. Review questions and supplementary activities are presented at the conclusion of lessons.
