This document attempts to illustrate the inequality of education in Israel through the following: (1) an account of interviews with Israeli scholars, educators, and activists, and (2) a description of selective events in Israel that occurred between March and July, 1978. Some of the topics discussed in the interviews include integration in Israeli schools, educational backgrounds of Afro-Asian Jewish minorities in Israel, discrimination against Jewish minorities in Israel, and problems involved in the integration of Israeli schools. Some of the events described include actions taken to deal with rising inflation, housing problems, dental problems, problems confronting Oriental Jews, and educational reform. (EB)
