"Using Television," a studio program in the Open University course "Making Sense of Society," was designed to increase student understanding of the nature of television material. The purpose of this critique is not so much to pass summary judgement on this particular program as to generate some formative ideas that might be used to improve the production and use of similar programs made in the future.
