The conference reported here was held to provide an open forum for vocational teacher educators and bureau of vocational education personnel to discuss the major issues and problems common to all vocational education programs. Following a brief description of the conference (which includes the objectives, planning, outcomes, and evaluation), the remainder of this report is comprised of appendixes. The first three appendixes contain the conference program, the conference announcement, and a list of the participants. Three presentations are then appended. The first is a presentation on the present and future challenges in leadership for vocational education by Gene Bottoms, Executive Secretary, The American Vocational Association. The next one is a presentation by Roger Semerad from the National Advisory Council on Vocational Education which critiques vocational education leadership's dealing with the employment problems of the economically and academically disadvantaged. The last presentation, a panel discussion, deals with leadership, special student populations, and public relations in vocational education. The next appendix contains the conference wrap-up, while the last one summarizes the participants' responses to the conference as indicated on the evaluation survey form. (EM)
