This report presents a summary of recent trends in school and college enrollment based on the October 1977 Current Population Survey (CPS) and earlier surveys. Enrollment statistics representing growth and decline at various educational levels are evaluated in written summaries. Comparative and distributive enrollment statistics of the population 3 to 34 years old are presented by: level and control of school and race; age and sex; sex and race; undergraduate four year and two year colleges; Spanish origin; and selected educational characteristics. An appendix describes the source and reliability of the estimates and includes a table of standard errors and a table of parameters for standard error computation. (EB)
