The Institutional Renewal (IRS) Scale: An Instrument to Measure Attitudes Toward Educational Innovation.
Crowley, Robert J.
The Institutional Renewal Scale (IRS) is a twelve-items attitude scale designed to measure attitudes toward educational innovation in schools. The development of the scale is described and a copy of the scale is included. Items were selected on the basis of both scale values and discrimination indices. A comparison was made between the scores of 19 high school teachers who had implemented educational innovations during the previous year and 19 randomly selected secondary school teachers. Correlations were computed between IRS scores and various other attitude and personality questionnaire scores. (Author/CTM)
