Learner-Centered Instruction (LCI): Volume 1-A. Systems Approach to Electronics Maintenance Training.
Valverde, Horace H.
The report describes the proposed development and evaluation of a learner-centered (LCI) systems approach to electronics maintenance training. An electronics course, appropriate for airmen of various aptitudes, will be prepared to develop proficiency in the specific duties required of a Weapon Control Systems Mechanic/Technician in the F-111A weapon system. The course will be highly job-relevant and will include multimedia, self-instructional, apprentice-like experiences. Personnel of various levels of aptitude in electronics, including levels lower than those currently used, will take the course. Their on-the-job performance will be carefully and systematically evaluated and compared with the performance of the personnel from the parallel course. The total program will focus and demonstrate the technology for developing job specific, apprentice-like technical courses as an integral part of the weapon system development cycle. (Author/NL)
