A Follow-up Study on the Characteristics and Opinions of Students Enrolled in Occupational Education Programs or in University-Parallel Programs at Tarrant County Junior College District.
Tarrant County Junior Coll. District, Ft. Worth, TX.
To measure the success of the recently opened Tarrant County Junior College, a follow-up study was conducted to determine personal characteristics of students, their opinions of their studies at this school, and their post-Tarrant County Junior College activities. Surveys were designed for a group of students who had taken at least one occupational education course and for another group who should have completed 60 credit hours by the end of spring semester 1969 (university-parallel students). This study analyzes the students' responses to these two surveys, which are included in the appendices. The surveys sought such information as place of residence, sex, age of respondents, marital status, and prior college experience. The two groups of students were also compared on their opinions of selected factors, e.g., faculty interest in students (faculty advisement) at the college. These and other areas are analyzed with the aid of tables. Findings and conclusions are presented in a summary of the study. (RC)
