This paper summarizes planning for research on Work Unit APSTRAT, which deals with the development and testing of training strategies appropriate for various levels of aptitude in operational field training for a variety of military occupational specialty courses. There will be active self-paced individual instruction involving such alternative media as programed manuals, tape/slide presentations, video tapes, and peer instruction.
