This structured reader is intended primarily for adults and young adults working in English as a second language on an intermediate grammar and vocabulary level. Designed to improve the student's knowledge of written English, the material may also be used to help students with the spoken language, both by providing topics for class discussions and by giving practice in various necessary oral idioms. The volume consists of 12 units, each containing a reading passage, vocabulary and idioms listings with definitions, dictionary practice, grammatical structures with drills and exercises, conversation questions, written or oral composition practice, dictation, and pronunciation drills.
