This report covers the 3rd year in which vocational programs and related activities were supported by the Vocational Education Act of 1963. A program overview presents vocational education, with a fiscal 1967 enrollment of 7,047,501 persons, as the largest component in the Nation's array of organized efforts to reduce unemployment and eliminate occupational shortages. Vocational education served almost one million more persons in 1967 than in 1966. Every occupational area showed an increase in total enrollment. Approximately 95 percent of those completing vocational programs and available for placement found employment. Ancillary services were supported as essential elements to the further development of vocational education. Efforts in the areas of program management, planning, and budgeting indicate a trend toward closer coordination and control of vocational education programs.
