THE PRESIDENT'S COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1963 BY PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY TO ANALYZE THE CONDITION OF WOMEN IN THE UNITED STATES TODAY, REVIEW ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN IMPROVING THEIR STATUS, AND RECOMMEND MEANS OF OVERCOMING DISCRIMINATIONS IN EMPLOYMENT AND SERVICES THAT WILL HELP WOMEN CONTINUE THEIR ROLE AS WIVES AND MOTHERS WHILE WORRKING. SEVEN COMMITTEES EXPLORED IN DEPTH CIVIL AND POLITICAL RIGHTS, EDUCATION, HOME AND COMMUNITY, FEDERAL AND PRIVATE EMPLOYMENT, PROTECTIVE LABOR LEGISLATION, AND SOCIAL INSURANCE AND TAXES. EACH ISSUED A REPORT.
