THIS IS A SUPPLEMENT TO AN EARLIER REPORT CALLED "INCENTIVE LEADERSHIP STUDY" AND ATTEMPTS TO ASSESS THE ROLE CHANGE OF MEMBERS OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, COUNTY SUPERINTENDENTS. A COMPARISON WAS MADE OF THE 1959 AND 1960 TESTS, WHICH CONSISTED OF A BATTERY OF ADJUSTMENT AND VALUE INDEXES, A MEASURE OF ASSUMED SIMILARITY, AND A ROLE CONCEPT Q-SORT. THE RESULTS ARE--(1) THERE APPEARS TO BE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT ANY OF THE THREE GROUPS EXPERIENCED A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THEIR ATTITUDES TOWARD THEMSELVES OR TOWARD OTHER PEOPLE, (2) IN TERMS OF ROLE PERCEPTION SOME CHANGE IS EVIDENT, BUT STABILITY IN ROLE PERCEPTION IS MORE THE KEYNOTE, (3) THERE IS LESS DIFFERENCE IN PERCEPTION OF IDEAL ROLES AMONG THE GROUPS THAN THERE IS IN PERCEPTION OF CURRENT ROLES.
