Our World Their World
Brisco, Nicole
SchoolArts: The Art Education Magazine for Teachers, v110 n8 p46-47 Apr 2011
Build, create, make, blog, develop, organize, structure, perform. These are just a few verbs that illustrate the visual world. These words create images that allow students to respond to their environment. Visual culture studies recognize the predominance of visual forms of media, communication, and information in the postmodern world. This article discusses how students use these concepts to communicate through art-making, specifically by using objects that "define" their generation. (Contains 1 online resource.)
