Teens, New Media and Contemporary Art: Expanding Authority in the Museum Context
Hill, Ryan; Douillette, Joe
Journal of Museum Education, v39 n3 p250-261 Oct 2014
This article explores the impact of technology on contemporary art museums using case studies of teen media programs from the Hirshhorn Museum and the ICA Boston. Teens, as "digital natives," help to define the use of technology in museums. Responding to their needs opens up an institutional dialogue concerning issues of expertise, authorship, and class.
