Spirituality in the Life and Career of Muslim Teachers
Mogra, Imran
International Journal of Children's Spirituality, v15 n2 p159-173 May 2010
Using a life history approach, this paper explores spirituality in the life and work of Muslim teachers employed in state schools of England. Background for discussion includes a rationale for the methodology and its advantages. The findings highlight their conceptualisation of God and purpose of life, and draw attention to their views and understanding about spirituality and the role it plays in their life. It concludes by stating that spirituality continues to be significant to them--albeit in a variety of ways that reflect the diverse paths of spirituality evident among Muslims.
