The Gough Adjective Check List was used to assess the self-reported personalities of women graduate studio art students and to compare the resulting group profile to personality profiles of women students in two other fields: medicine and psychology. (SJL)

Female art students, rather than male art students, claimed tendencies to seek change for the sake of pleasure and to be competitive and aggressive. No differences in personality characteristics were found between males and females studying studio arts and those studying English and psychology. (Author/RM)

Sixty graduate studio art students, 64 graduate English students, and 68 graduate psychology students participated in a study to examine possible differences in career attitudes across sexes and academic majors.
