State Data Exchange: 45 Years and Still Counting
Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)-State Data Exchange is a cooperative effort of the SREB and the statewide higher education governing and coordinating boards in the South. Founded in 1969-1970, it is one of the nation's oldest, most comprehensive sources of comparative data on public higher education. The Data Exchange annually collects, compiles and publishes the most up-to-date statistics on postsecondary education in the 16-state SREB region, including information by institutional category. This report highlights the key results from the latest, in-depth SREB-State Data Exchange report, covering the 2013-14 academic year. It contains three sets of comparisons: (a) four-year colleges and universities, (b) two-year colleges and (c) technical institutes or colleges. It also contains data on where state universities, colleges and technical institutes stand on enrollment, degrees and other awards conferred, student persistence and progression rates, time-to-degree and attempted credits-to degree, funding, student tuition/fees and faculty compensation. Appended to the report are: (1) Public Postsecondary Education Institutions by Category; (2) Data Elements; and (3) Final 2012-13 Tables. (For the 2013-14 indicators report, see ED559265.)
