Emanuelsson, Ingemar; Fischbein, Siv – Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 1986
Sex differences in achievement test results and school marks are reviewed. Research shows a pattern that girls earn more in marks in relation to test results than boys. By using available Swedish data from two longitudinal research projects, one of them including boy-girl twins, the pattern is confirmed. (Author/LMO)

Changes in verbal, spatial, and reasoning intelligence among Swedish 13-year olds were studied from 1960 to 1990. Rising verbal scores until 1980 have been followed by a decline to essentially the 1960 level. Spatial and reasoning results have risen continuously.
