Gedviliene, Genute; Vaiciuniene, Vilhelmina
Quality of Higher Education, v3 p123-140 2006
This paper presents a quantitative analysis of information literacy competencies level within nine universities of Lithuania. The empirical research was carried out in 2005 with a research sample of 700 respondents. Comparative analysis of the data between full-time and extramural study mode students revealed differences in the level of competencies between students in the two modes of study. The article presents a theoretical overview of the relevant literature and policy documents relating to information literacy and discusses the research findings obtained in a questionnaire survey. The current situation related to information literacy competencies and the need to develop them is revealed. (Contains 12 figures.)
