The philosophy, practice, and goals of a bilingual-bicultural elementary school program in Mexico are presented. The program, sponsored by Extraescolar, the Office of Extrascholastic Education in the Indigenous Environment, provides instruction to Indian children both in an indigenous language and Spanish.
