Examined educators' perceptions of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, based on the results of a statewide survey among 286 fifth- and sixth-grade teachers and principals. Presents an analysis of parents' views of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. Results showed that parental involvement and knowledge of D.A.R.E. was high. Generally, parents were very positive about D.A.R.E., especially when they viewed the D.A.R.E. officer as an effective educator. Topics for future research are suggested.…

Reports on survey of principals' and teachers' views of D.A.R.E. officers' effectiveness with students. Most predictive of the educator ratings was the perceived quality of teacher-officer interaction. Future research on the relationship between prevention education programs and various stakeholders is discussed. (Author/JDM)
