Analysis of Student Evaluation of Teaching Scores Using Bootstrap and Permutation Methods.
Chin, Louis; Haughton, Dominique; Aczel, Amir
Journal of Computing in Higher Education, v8 n1 p69-84 Fall 1996
Proposes improved, more computer-intensive statistical techniques using bootstrap and permutation tests for analyzing results of student evaluations of teaching. Application of these methods resulted in narrower (more precise) confidence intervals and larger significance levels than more classical methods. Results indicate the new techniques successfully take skewness of data into account and suggest prudence in using classical statistical techniques. (Author/MSE)
