Describes an interactive, screen-oriented, BASIC computer program for an IBM PC microcomputer with graphics capability. The program (which uses about 34K RAM and utilizes a menu format) represents a general method for calculating thermodynamic properties of chemical reactions from thermal data for reactants and products. Described is a method of evaluating student chemistry laboratory reports using electronic reporting from locally developed macros. Examples of the input template, the grade report template, and input and grading programs are given. Results of a survey of students and teachers evaluating the program are reported. (MDH)
