As achievement in basic reading declines, the content validity of tests in special subjects may be reduced because examinees cannot read the test items. This study found that reading ability and item format affected test scores in the area of health science for a sample of high school students. (Author/JKS)

Records of students in an honors program at Marquette University revealed that the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test verbal and mathematics scores were moderately predictive for all honors students. Only the mathematics score was predictive of program success for women. (Author/JKS)

For a sample of masters in education students, a moderate correlation was found between Graduate Record Examinations aptitude test scores and graduate grade point average. Results are discussed and conclusions are drawn. (JKS)

Rankings by faculty members of scholarship and profesionalism of doctoral recipients were correlated with age, undergraduate and graduate grade point average, and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores. Results indicated age was negatively correlated, grades were positively correlated, and GRE scores were positively correlated. (JKS)

The validity of the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Verbal and Math scores as predictors of college freshmen's grade point average was examined on a sample of college freshmen and then cross-validated on a separate sample of freshmen law and justice students. After being translated into French, the Learning Environment Inventory was administered to 3,065 high school students in Quebec. The scales of the Inventory were then related to achievement scores. Results supported the validity of the inventory. (Author/JKS)
