Vegelius, Jan – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1976
Existing generalizations of the G Index of Agreement of two subjects on n dichotomous items are discussed and an alternative index for ordinal scales with fixed neutral points is proposed. The proposed index can be used as a normalized scalor product and for both item and person similarities. (JKS)

Klockars, Alan J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1972
The scales of the EPI have both a favorable and an unfavorable psychometric property which is related to the instructions and format of the inventory. (Author)

Lord, Frederic M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1971
A number of empirical studies are suggested to answer certain questions in connection with flexilevel tests. (MS)

Parker, George V. C. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1971
This study evaluates the usefulness of conceptualizing intraindividual stability as a personality construct. The feasibility of developing a psychometric scale which might be used to reliably predict individual stability in self-description, self-concept, and other behavioral domains is assessed. (MS)

Hojat, Mohammadreza – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1982
The psychometric characteristics of the revised UCLA Loneliness Scale in Iranian groups correlated significantly with measures of other conceptually-related variables such as depression, anxiety, and neuroticism. Factorial structure supported the multidimensionality of the scale. (Author/PN)

Wilcox, Rand R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
For some situations the beta-binomial distribution might be used to describe the marginal distribution of test scores for a particular population of examinees. Several different methods of approximating the maximum likelihood estimate were investigated, and it was found that the Newton-Raphson method should be used when it yields admissable…

Dziuban, Charles D.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
The distributional characteristics of Kaiser's Measure of Sampling Adequacy (MSA) were investigated in sample matrices generated from multivariate normal populations of specified correlation levels. Systematic variation of sample size and number of variables revealed the overall MSA to be most influenced by the number of variables. (Author/JKS)

Schneier, Craig Eric – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
An empirical investigation of the psychometric properties of Bieri's grid form of Kelly's Role Construct Repertory Test was designed. Preliminary norm tables for scores were established which would be necessary in building arguments for external validity of research results. (Author/JKS)

Wilcox, Rand R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
A problem of considerable importance in certain educational settings is determining how many items to include on a mastery test. Applying ranking and selection procedures, a solution is given which includes as a special case all existing single-stage, non-Bayesian solutions based on a strong true-score model. (Author/JKS)

Hofmann, Richard J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
The Guttman scale is discussed from the viewpoint of errors in response patterns. The errors are assumed to be distributed as a binomial. A double-barreled significance test is suggested having two probabilities: high probability and low probability. (Author)

Douglass, Frazier M., IV; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
Classical item analysis and Rasch latent trait analysis were applied to the responses of a sample of undergraduates to two measures concerning alcoholism. Little difference in terms of practical considerations was found between the methods. (JKS)

Vegelius, Jan – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1977
A new type of scale, called the bipolar ordinate scale, is defined with assumptions slightly stronger than those of the normal ordinal scale. The scale would be used for affective type measurement. The logic behind the scale and examples are presented. (Author/JKS)
