Remembering the Past in Researching for the Future: Diagnosis and Treatment of Social Amnesia in the Educational Technology Community
Romiszowski, Alexander; Rushby, Nick
Educational Technology, v55 n5 p29-34 Sep-Oct 2015
The theme of this article is that educational technologists are particularly bad at remembering the lessons from the past. We fail to remember what went before--whether the projects were successes or failures. This article explores why this might be, why in particular we fail to profit from failures, and what steps we might take to help early-career researchers as well as decision-makers avoid the pitfalls of forgetting the lessons of the past.
