Cross-Cultural Communications: An American Toddler in Israeli Child Care--A Case Study. A Teacher's Story, a Teacher's Reflections.
Leidman, Mary Beth
Early Childhood Education Journal, v23 n1 p37-41 Fall 1995
Discusses experiences in finding appropriate child care for a 10-month-old American infant in Israel. Criteria included location, caregiver-child ratio, caregiver background and training, physical plant, and equipment. Noticed consistent and intense interest in child's welfare, even by strangers on the street. Caregivers allowed child greater physical freedom, but with equal attentiveness, to that found in the United States. (JW)
