In this article, Lynne Cook describes a research project carried out to evaluate a particular approach to reconnecting young people in Key Stage 4 who have become disconnected from the education system. Here, she uses some case studies to explore these young people's disconnection and puts forward and evaluates a new model of alternative provision called the Virtual College.
