Plan a Site Visit with Your Legislator
Ochs, Mike
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v18 n6 p34-35 Jul-Aug 2005
When members of Congress head home for a recess, participants in the grassroots network have an opportunity to use one of their effective education tools: the site visit. A site visit occurs when a legislator actually visits one's business, school, or organization to see one's work firsthand. A local site visit is effective because grassroots organizations can vividly demonstrate their professional working life--an opportunity for any member of the Congress to see real people at work. In this article, the author provides tips on planning site visits with legislators.
