Tips for Advocating: Inform Your School Community on the Physical Education of Today
Stewart, Amanda
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v19 n5 p30-33 May-Jun 2006
Physical educators find it difficult to understand the reasons that classroom teachers attempt to excuse students from physical education. Physical education teachers work tirelessly to help children feel good about their physical abilities and make physical activity challenging and enjoyable for all students, regardless of skill competency. In this article, the author provides physical educators with ideas that are easy to implement in order to advocate physical education throughout school communities. Several suggestions that can be used to advocate physical education programs to the entire school community are discussed.
