School psychologists and counselors are increasingly called upon to assist the growing population of grandparents who are rearing their grandchildren. This article addresses some of the key issues facing these grandparents: the emotional needs of grandchildren and grandparents, financial support, legal concerns and transitions. Suggestions for intervention strategies for school psychologists and counselors are offered. (Contains 41 references.) (GCP)
